Join us for Workshops on the IFS Model

We offer online and in-person workshops on the IFS model for clinicians who are eager to learn. Our workshops are a great way to learn more about the IFS approach to therapy, meet other clinicians, and satisfy continuing education requirements. We offer a relaxed and inclusive environment. If you have been hearing about IFS on podcasts, in books, or from colleagues our workshops are a great way to begin learning and applying the model. You will leave our workshop with renewed excitement and energy about doing therapy, new ideas to try with clients, and many sparks of curiosity.

Join us for an introductory experience with Internal Family Systems. IFS is a powerful approach to psychotherapy that can transform your practice as a clinician. This approach honors the complexity of the human experience by helping clients get to know the different parts of themselves. IFS is non-pathologizing, experiential, client-centered, and affirming of clients' race, gender, sexuality and other identities. IFS is a trauma healing modality, and it can be used in a variety of practice settings to address a wide range of clinical issues. IFS can be integrated with other therapy modalities or used as a stand alone theory.

Through IFS clients can

• develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves
• increase awareness of their behavior in relationship including triggers and automatic responses
• increase embodiment
• learn to trust themselves
• heal and release traumatic wounds 
• explore the impacts of marginalization, oppression, and discrimination on their system
• examine their own privilege, biases, and stereotypes
• understand and repair attachment wounds

IFS therapists and practitioners can:

• develop competency working with the most complex clients
• have a sense of clarity about their work
• experience more ease and calm in session
• be collaborative not directive (we work with, not do for)
• follow a clear pathway to healing 
• be open to feedback from clients
• use IFS for their own growth and development 
• examine their own privilege, biases, and stereotypes 
• explore the impacts of marginalization, oppression, and discrimination on their system

We recommend starting with an Introduction to IFS Workshop to learn the basic concepts of the model and beginning strategies to bring IFS into your current practice. 

If you've taken our Intro workshop we recommend following it up with our Next Steps Workshop where you will learn even more ways to utilize IFS in your practice. We tailor this workshop to the participants in the room, leave lots of time for discussion. We also make sure to give you opportunities for guided practice.
